Safety

Monday, 16 June 2008

Intense safety campaigns are being developed so that work accidents are decreasing.
We have implemented a report of incidents at the supervision level which allows us taking immediate corrective measures.
We have a craft trained in mining rescue practices with personnel duly assigned for such a purpose.
According to the law in force, we also have a Safety Committee which controls the safety administration.

Environment

The company has assumed the commitment to protect the environment at their influenced areas through personnel education programs and procedures orientated to water and air monitoring, as well as the preservation of land and reforestation.

Through the PAMA Act (Program of Environmental Administration and Adapting, for its abbreviation in Spanish) of the Environmental Assessment, the Government protects and penalizes those activities transgressing the nature preservation.

Under right guidance and compliance of the laws concerning this matter, we carry out studies of air and water monitoring; geo-mechanical works on stability of waste dumps, seepage, and hydro-geological studies at the mine.
